Charlin’s Book Nook Frankenmuth, Mi (Part 2)

If you are a book lover and a lover of second hand items this is the place for you! This charming little nook has all types of books, with cute little sitting areas and a children’s section.

Charlin’s Book Nook in Frankenmuth, Michigan was a lot of fun and was nice to step out of the rush. In the same building was a cute little coffee shop with some delicious coffee. N’orlins Beignets & Coffee was close by, selling coffee mugs and some other items in their shop.

The combination of the two places were delightful.  I highly recommend getting a hot cup of coffee and then diving into the book store sitting in a chair and take it all in. Let some time pass in this quant place.

March’s Reading Month

I’ve been racking my brain all weekend to figure out what my monthly goal or challenge should be in March, I thought about decluttering, blog writing, and exercise goals, but then I remembered how we used to have reading challenges in March, and figured how fitting it would be. Also it is so hard to believe February is gone.

Yup, thats my monthly challenge for March, to devour as many books as I can, mainly to finish up the oh so numerous books that are bookmarked somewhere in the middle. I can think of a total of 4 books plus a magazine off the top of my head that meet these qualifications.

My goal for the year is to read a total of 15 complete books, and thanks to my free Hoopla App, I’ve already got three books complete, finishing up my fourth. If you don’t know about Hoopla, I suggest you check it out, they have everything from movies, tv shows, ebooks, audiobooks and music for free.

How you say? It’s a library app. It’s amazing. I promise you, it is life changing. Your welcome. 🙂

Also you can borrow 8 titles for the month, so far this hasn’t been a problem for me 😉

When it comes down to sitting down and reading a hard copy book, well lets just say it is not my strong point. The audiobooks are great when I am at the gym working out or running around my house folding laundry, washing my dishes, cleaning my bathrooms and so on. I love staying busy and sitting down enjoying a book can honestly be the hardest thing for me to do. Even when I watch a movie I am cooking a meal, folding my laundry, doing dishes, or planning my week and to do list.

Which is why I am choosing my early morning as reading time because my brain is overloaded with a to do list yet, and I can enjoy a cup of hot coffee in the process.

My main goal is to finish up the hard cover books I have started, and not starting a new one until they are all complete. One exception I am starting a new book I haven’t started to follow along with someone else as we read it together. Finish up my audiobooks in my Hoopla App, and to start my gardening books if I complete said books.

How I am going to achieve this goal:

  • Always have a book in my purse
  • When I have the nudge to get sucked into my phone, pick up a book instead
  • Listen to my audiobooks while I am at the gym instead of music
  • Continue my early morning routine and read at least 30 minutes each day
  • If I run out of time in the morning to read, then make it my bed time priority

What are your monthly goals and how are you achieving them?

Does anyone else have reading goals for the year?

Or reading goals for the month of March?

If you do, join me for the Month of March and even the year if you would like to stay accountable on our reading goals. 🙂
